DÌDI (弟弟)
In 2008, during the last month of summer before high school begins, an impressionable 13-year-old Taiwanese American boy learns what his family can’t teach him: how to skate, how to flirt, and how to love your mom.
The film stars Izaac Wang (CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG, RAYA AND THE LAST DRAGON), Joan Chen (THE LAST EMPEROR, “Twin Peaks”), Shirley Chen (QUIZ LADY), and Chang Li Hua (NAI NAI & WÀI PÓ).
DÌDI (弟弟) was written and directed by Sean Wang, who drew on personal experiences when exploring the narrative of what it means to be Asian American. Numerous screening attendees have mentioned how they see their own family represented on screen. Everyone will be able to relate to the universal themes of growing up, fighting with your siblings, making (and losing) best friends, and realizing that family ties are more important than you think.
